ANCIENT EGYPT:  A Thematic Cultural Curriculum: 
Objectives: The Students Will:
 1 Depict in a 3D diorama Egyptians gathering food from the Nile (People and the Environment)
 2 Draw people in society and their jobs (People in Society)
 3 Depict Egyptian beliefs through architecture and images (People and their Beliefs)
 Procedure: 
 The students take notes placing activities and people in the appropriate cultural theme while viewing a presentation on Ancient Egypt. The students select theme and use the Art Activity Work Box* to plan their project.  Teacher presents a demonstration on techniques of selected materials.  
Art Language:
Culture, Shapes, Overlap, Background/Middle-ground/Foreground, 2-D Images & 3-D Forms, 
Proportion, Details, Texture 
Assessment - each group answers the Students’ Art Project Rubric.

This thematic Egyptian Curriculum was presented to students grades third through fifth at Bryant Elementary School, in Mableton, Georgia.
